Ludhiana, JNN. Corona virus is taking deadly form in the district and the situation is becoming uncontrollable. For the first time, on the same day in the metropolis, on Monday, Corona killed three people. These include two elders and a woman. Civil surgeon Dr. Rajesh Bagga confirmed the deaths of the three patients. So far 17 people have died in the district.
Apart from this, 32 cases of corona also came together on Monday. Of these, 16 people were found positive for the second consecutive day from the Containment Zone Prem Nagar. So far, there have been 66 cases in Prem Nagar. There have been 70 cases in Habibganj and 62 in Cantonment Mohalla. Apart from this, two ASIs, two home guards and a 45-year-old lab technician working in a civil hospital were also found positive on Monday. Three people have come positive in the investigations conducted in private hospitals. Samples of 934 people have been sent on Monday while 259 people have been quarantined.
Nodal officer of Kovid 19 and ADCP Sachin Gupta said that the lab technician of the civil hospital was going with the team of doctors of the civil hospital to collect samples of police personnel in the police line. Apart from this, ASI living in ward number two in Sahnewal and posted in PCR has also been found positive. He is the home quarantine.
ASI has been investigated in Pathankot. His son is a commando in the police. The ASI stationed at Shimlapuri police station has arrived. It is a resident of Sawan Parihar Colony. ASI is suffering from diabetes and is currently admitted to VMC Hospital.
Challenges for health department also increased
The rise of corona virus cases in the district also poses challenges for the health department. After five Corona positive cases, the Health Department team reached New Model Town at 9 am on Monday to collect the samples. He faced opposition from the people on this.
Actually, the team knocked on the doors of people’s homes. For about two hours, the health workers stood outside the houses and asked them to give samples, but the people refused. Health personnel informed District Epidemologist Dr. Ramesh Kumar. Dr. Ramesh arrived at around 11 o’clock. He called the councilor and the head of the area on the spot. People did not listen to anyone. People said that he would not get the sample tested because he is all healthy and nothing happened to him.
Today OPD and emergency services in private hospitals stalled
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Ludhiana has called for the shutdown of medical services on 23 June in protest against the Clinical Establishment Act. IMA officials have announced to stop medical services in all private hospitals, nursing homes and clinics in the city. Dr. Sunil Katyal, Principal of IMA Ludhiana and Dr. Manoj Sobti, Chairman of Joint Action Committee Punjab, said that he did not want to disrupt medical services. They were forced to take this decision. They demand that the Clinical Establishments Act be repealed.
